Last month, LATAM Airlines launched direct flights connecting Lima with Huaraz in the Ancash region. The journey to this Andean city takes approximately 70 minutes and operates four times per week (Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays).
Often referred to as the adventure capital of Peru, Huaraz serves as the gateway to a region renowned for its diverse outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and camping - while maintaining the beautiful sense of place of a Peruvian destination.
From here travelers can easily access some of the towering peaks of the Cordillera Blanca, the highest tropical mountain range in the world. This area is a paradise for serious mountaineers, but also offers plenty of options for those seeking less challenging adventures.
Beyond its natural wonders, Huaraz boasts a rich local culture with vibrant markets and traditional festivals that celebrate the region’s native heritage.
