Sustainable Travel
Peru Empire Co. always aims to provide a full understanding of Peru. Peru is a very diverse country and the regions and inhabitants have sometimes very different needs. In an effort to provide children from remote areas in Cusco with more opportunities, Peru Empire collaborates with Amantaní NGO to support their educational projects via a financial contribution that is donated on behalf of each traveler.
About Amantaní
Amantaní is a non-governmental non-profit organization working to help indigenous Quechua children in the Cusco region. Its mission is to ensure access to primary and secondary education for children who have to walk up to 8 hours every day to get to their schools. Amantaní offers a safe place to more than sixty children, aged between 7 and 18, who stay in the shelters close to their schools during the week. Every afternoon, the children participate in intercultural learning programs based on their curriculum classes and traditional Quechua culture. This way, they build confidence, creativity and resilience to meet the challenges of growing up as an indigenous person in modern-day Peru.
Economic Sustenance
Peru Empire Co. provides support for the maintenance of Amantaní by:
-
Donating a financial contribution per traveller that organized their travel itinerary with us.
-
Organizing visits to Amantaní shelters - Passengers wanting to help the children directly can visit the establishments and also give a more personalized contribution. That way, they can witness firsthand the service that is being provided thanks to this contribution.
