Forest engineer, expert in enviromental issues, self-taught photographer, editor and journalist. Walter has been travelling for over three decades throughout Peru without rest, recording nature and culture of the lesser known corners of this beautiful country. As a result of this titanic effort, he has delivered the largest image bank of Peru and an extensive series of books, which include: ten guidebooks, five encyclopedias, more than 500 illustrated books and about a thousand covers in other national and foreign magazines. Furthermore, he has been the only Peruvian journalist to publish five articles for the spanish version of National Geographic magazine. All this has led him to be named Peru's most prolific author on travel and ecological issues. Walter is considered an institutional reference on subjects such as nature, wildlife and living culture. He is currently the director of Wust Ediciones, a company dedicated to the editorial production of articles related to travel, conservation and culture in Peru. Walter has also been a four-year member of the Directive Counsel of the National Service of Natural Protected Areas, and an adviser to the National Enviroment Council. Today he is director of several nonprofit organizations, as well as founder of the Environmental Management's Degree of the UPC (Peruvian University of Applied Science).
